Two years ago our previous heating/cooling contractor told us our furnace had a cracked heat exchanger, and said it would take 2 men 8 hours and cost $850 to replace. They demanded half the $$ that day. My doodoo detector was going off, so I refused and told them I would get back to them. They replied with dire warnings about carbon monoxide. Did some research and talked with other area contractors. Found that Carefree had an A+ rating from BBB. Spoke with the owner Jon, who said the heat exchanger was under warranty so there would just be a shipping charge, and it would take probably only an hour to replace, two tops. We hired them, and it took Jon and Walt under an hour. They did a great job and charged something like $120 plus shipping on the exchanger. We've been super happy with them since, and so have the two neighbors who hired Carefree based on our recommendations. They're honest, competent and inexpensive. Two thumbs way up!
